Hello World!

Hey all! I just wanted to start this blog because I am always being asked the same question everytime I go out. . . "Who does your hair?" Well, I do! :-) I love messing with my hair and trying new things. I always get looked at funny because when people ask me if I can do thier hair, I always tell them that I only really know how to do my own hair. I have never had another person to practice on until I had my daughter. But since she is only 2 years old, I can only do so much LOL One of these days I may consider putting my hands in someone else's hair but for now, I think I will continue to stick to my own ;-) I called this blog "My Kind of Natural" for a reason. I am a natural (no perms or extensive chemicals) but I cant seem to pull off alot of the cute natural styles that I like because the thickness and texture of my hair will not allow the style to turn out the way it should LOL. Though I have had one before, I have never really needed a perm since my hair straightens very well on its own. I really just decided about 3 years ago that i would stay away from heat and try to use natural products in my hair. I got sick of flat ironing my hair every morning just to have my hair curled up by the end of the day due to the air outside (Michigan Weather ugh!).I have done all kinds of searching online to find styles that fit my hair and I just end up experimenting and making stuff up; sometimes it works and other times it is an epic fail, but I always take pictures so that I can remember the style. My hair is not dangerously thin, but its not super thick either. . .so this limits me with the styles that I can be successful with. I know that I cant be the only person in the world with this issue therefore I created this blog to reach out and share with others. Through my years of research I have learned how to make some of my own products, developed better hair care regimens, trim my own hair, do my own sew ins and other protective styles, and i even learned slightly what my hair type might be. All of this information that I have learned over time has really helped me to come up with what styles work best for My Kind of Natural hair! So take a look at my posts and pics. Let me know what you think and feel free to comment and share ideas! :-) Thanks!
